Ava/Chroma "a class act from start to finish."

Blue Ceiling dance coproduced Ava/Chroma with Susan Kendal/pocket alchemy from April 2-5, 2008 at Theatre Centre. Joined by guest artist from New York City, Kyle Abraham, the team brought the house down with the world premiere of Susan's creation "A|Chromatic" and Lucy's cocreation with Matthew Romantini "happy endings are still endings". Paula Citron reviewed the show on Classical 96.3 fm, calling the whole production a "class act from start to finish" and honing in on Lucy and Matthew's "layers of emotion as a romantic/unromantic couple". Lucy would like to thank all the cast, crew, volunteers and DanceWorks Coworks for their support.

Not going to Serbia...Nova Scotia and British Columbia instead!

Sadly, Blue Ceiling dance had to turn down an invitation to perform "The Abecedarian" in Belgrade, Serbia this May. Instead, Lucy will be on tour with Theatre Rusticle in the acclaimed show "April 14, 1912", performing at the Supernova Festival in Dartmouth/Halifax and the Magnetic North Theatre Festival in Vancouver. www.theatrerusticle.org

August 2008

The lovely and lithe Caroline Niklas-Gordon, a frequent collaborator with Blue Ceiling dance, is organizing a low-key but high-calibre event at the Pia Bouman Studio Theatre. Lucy and Caroline will be performing "untisch" their collaboration with binoculars made for the RED festival in 2007, as well as a new solo created on Lucy by Caroline, and other exciting new work. Keep checking the website for more details.

Taking a break!

Blue Ceiling dance is taking a production break in the 2008-09 season as artistic director Lucy focuses on several new creations and an international collaboration. Outside of the Blue Ceiling umbrella, Lucy will be at large and available for performance and outside eye work.
