Danceworks 2010-2011 Season

Blue Ceiling dance/Lucy Rupert are thrilled to be part of DanceWorks 2010-2011 Mainstage Series in a shared program with the inimitable Marc Boivin. Lucy premieres a new solo inspired by ecology, mortality and a range of animals from Milne’s Piglet to the smallest primate, the Tarsier. Sarah Slean provides an original score. Set designer LIndsay Anne Black (Horizonteur with Blue Ceiling dance, and many projects with Theatre Rusticle) received a Dora nomination for her amazing work in creating a haunted forest in Theatre Passe Muraille for Theatre Rusticle’s new work “Birnam Wood”. 11 x forgetting excerpt at inaugural Dance2Danse Festival August 18-22

Blue Ceiling dance is pulling an excerpt from “11 x forgetting”, the 2007 work inspired by amnesia to the music of Radiohead, for the new Toronto dance festival. www.D2Dfestival.ca for more info!

Water with Sashar Zarif Dance

Lucy will be dancing with Heidi Strauss and Yvonne Ng in a new work by Sashar Zarif at Theatre Centre, September 23rd-October 2, 2010. Music by Eric Cadesky and visuals by Jeremy Mimnagh. Not to be missed!

Little Pear Garden Collective

Lucy is honoured to be part of the Four Beauties project conceived by Little Pear Garden Collective. Lucy will be dancing a solo created by William Yong exploring one of the legendary Chinese beauties.
