Blue Ceiling dance celebrates 10 years!

We’re publishing reflections and anecdotes and loads of old pics on the page. Past and present collaborators of all sorts weigh in on the 10 years of Blue Ceiling!

After many requests Blue Ceiling dance is offering classes this summer. Led by Lucy Rupert, the classes take place Thursdays 10-11:30am at Dovercourt House 1st Floor from July 24th to August 21st inclusive. The classes are exploratory and open to all kinds of dancers and anyone with a passion and interest in moving. Exploratory work that unites the experiences Lucy has had with theatre, music, butoh and contemporary dance approaches, as well as her unique use of poetic and anatomical imagery to free up the possibilities and facility of the body and the imagination. $10 per class. Reserve a spot or more information by email  Drop ins also welcome. Come on out!!

We are thanking the Eileen Smith and her team at Springworks Festival in Stratford and Lacey Smith and Bizz Varty at Flux Dance Festival in London for having us. It was a grand time. See our Facebook page for photos!

We’d like to thank Ontario Arts Council Touring program for support of our 2013 touring, as well as Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts for support of the production of Half-Life in March 2013.

We also want to say thank you to Multiple Myeloma Canada for their support with Half-Life and allowing us to run a performance as a benefit to the foundation.
