Lucy Rupert is a dancer, choreographer and theatre performer based in Toronto, with a diverse background and training in many art forms. She trained at the now-defunct University of Waterloo Dance Dept, where she had the luck of working with such dance creators and educators as Danny Grossman, Judith Miller, Susan Cash, Arnold Spohr, Joysanne Sidimus and Anjelko Yuresha. Lucy earned a double B.A. in Dance and Music, trained in classical piano and voice, began dancing professionally, singing in cabarets, and paying for school through the creation of several large paintings for the university. After graduation, Lucy moved to Toronto, entered the Professional Training Program at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, and began studying intensely with Robert "Ballet Bob" McCollum. In 2003 Lucy obtained a Masters Degree in History from the University of Toronto, specializing in the confluence of movements in visual and literary arts and the political underpinnings of pre-World War I East and Central Europe.

Under the name Blue Ceiling dance Lucy creates, produces and performs in contemporary dance works. Lucy works independently as a performer and has also performed in dance and theatre works by Caroline Niklas-Gordon, Lisa Pijuan-Nomura/Erin Shields, Fides Kruker, Theatre Verite, Circus Orange and the RED Festival's Sweet Sangria Orchestra. In all her performances, Lucy is known for passionate abandon and a fierce vulnerability.

Lucy has had the good fortune of working as an actor/performer in Theatre Rusticle productions since 2001, which she counts some of her most profound experiences as a performer. Lucy is married to the wonderful Dennes Pehadzic, has a voracious reading habit, and works part-time in arts administration for Puppetmongers Theatre and DanceWorks.
